Q for @ManageFlitter’s CEO @Ke_Ga: The #SocialROI FB Live chat has been occurring weekly for over a year now. What insights and learnings can you share from this exercise? #SocialROI pic.twitter.com/AeYqBGjuSl— ManageFlitter (@ManageFlitter) October 23, 2018
A1: We stream a chat on FB live with the #SocialROI guest after the Twitter chat. We get the benefit of additional content on our FB page. Even if the chat is done live the content can be watched by FB page visitors at anytime. #SocialROI https://t.co/w5C7Scuets— Kevin Garber (@Ke_Ga) October 23, 2018
A2: We also download the videos from FB and upload them to YouTube. We repurpose content, & make it go further. We organise the videos, put them in a playlist on Youtube for easy watching. #SocialROI https://t.co/w5C7Scuets— Kevin Garber (@Ke_Ga) October 23, 2018
A1. Nearly 2B people have watched a FB live and this creates new opportunities for you to connect with customers. 😱— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
Create original programming at a SCHEDULED TIME to engage viewers then leverage CUSTOM AUDIENCES to retarget viewers or create lookalike audiences. #SocialROI
A1: People love stories behind a brand, people love a brand with personality.— Kevin Garber (@Ke_Ga) October 23, 2018
Think of your favourite brands, and how interested you would be to see a relevant live stream from them.
Use this as a starting point to think what you can offer your customers.#SocialROI https://t.co/ZqBgkOqc1C
A1: Live streaming allows people to REALLY connect with you - they see your personality, your sense of humor...who you really are! This allows them to really get to like, know and trust you. #SocialROI— 🌟 Joanne Pham 🌟 #PeriGirls Founder (@GoRiceGirl) October 23, 2018
A2. Live Polls - @Facebook announced that Live polls are now available to all Pages through the Live API and Publishing Tool. Just imagine what you can do with interactive polls and how that can spark more engagement from your loyal fans! #SocialROI h/t @aiaddysonzhang pic.twitter.com/fz8IXabBOk— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
When you're live streaming on FB, open up the actual post on your desktop > Edit > Interactive > Create Poll > Publish. Once viewers vote, you can publish the results. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A2. Live Video Crossposting is another feature that brands can take advantage. Go Live once and have your content appear live on multiple pages. Perfect for blitz campaigns. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A2.— Ai Addyson-Zhang, Ph.D Digital Learning Consultant (@aiaddysonzhang) October 23, 2018
- I just discovered the live poll feature a few days ago when i went live in my group
- such a great way to give my audience ways, seek their feedback, and co-create content together
- live streaming feels so much more interactive than podcasting #SocialROI https://t.co/dJdEryV0A3
A2. I wouldn’t call any of these “new,” but many people don’t realize you can pre-schedule a Live, add a branded frame, bring viewers on live, use a DSLR camera on some third-party softwares, etc. - it’s not just an in-the-moment, point-your-phone thing! #SocialROI https://t.co/Y829pXndzz— 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐧✨ (@cgritmon) October 23, 2018
A3. @Facebook Premiere lets you debut videos as LIVE MOMENTS to create PRE-BUZZ.— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
Imagine dropping the WORLD PREMIERE of your newly launched product, course, products or flash sale.
You can get people talking about your launch before your cart even opens! #SocialROI pic.twitter.com/aVn6qKFog7
A3. We've been using Premiere to get fans hyped up for a client's upcoming FB Live and the engagement has been amazing. You can share the Premiere link just like a scheduled broadcast. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
Same can be said for live streaming in general. If consumers see a brand abusing a feature like Premiere or Live Streaming, then they open themselves to getting ignored in the future. Key is to be strategic. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
We've tested Premieres vs. regular scheduled videos and we find that we get more engagement BEFORE it even airs. Brilliant #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A3. People don’t realize that plenty of creators have been running pre-recorded as “live” on the sly for a while... I personally don’t like it as much as a real livestream, where the interaction actually impacts the content in real time. This is basically just TV. #SocialROI https://t.co/DQa3Bwf5JF— 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐧✨ (@cgritmon) October 23, 2018
A3 Premiere lets you leverage the power of teasing. And a good teasing gets you a good audience #SocialROI— Pedro Vieira 🎸 (@DMPedroVieira) October 23, 2018
A4.— Lisa 👩🏼💻🧟♀️ I like big gifs and I cannot lie (@lisaboylesmedia) October 23, 2018
1 - Production Timeline
2 - Scheduling Tool & Calendar
3 - Editing software (photos and/or videos)
4 - @Grammarly
5 - Audience insights
6 - Channel & content analytics
(Some social media management platforms do several of these at once. Find what works for you.) #SocialROI pic.twitter.com/Qe35MHHr1A
A4. I am the WORST and use nearly no tools... but I *should* use tools for:— 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐧✨ (@cgritmon) October 23, 2018
🛠semi-automatic redistribution of evergreen content
🛠chatbots for initial contact
A5. You get a lot of features w/ a 3rd party platform like @EcammTweets:— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
💡Brand your show
💡Screencast + more!
We use Ecamm for two of our shows, highly recommend for Mac users: https://t.co/EvhJTQrnrE #SocialROI
A5. Automate how you repurpose live videos!— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
My new secret weapon is a repurposing tool that takes your Facebook Live videos and publishes them to YouTube automatically.
You can even turn your videos into audiograms. https://t.co/HMHuJHzwbz #SocialROI
A5. If you want to get a lot of live viewers, consider have a pre-promotional strategy. That could include creating a FB event, leveraging bots for reminders, promoting the scheduled broadcast across all channels, etc. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A5. Have a RUN OF SHOW template that outlines the flow of the episode. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A5.— Ai Addyson-Zhang, Ph.D Digital Learning Consultant (@aiaddysonzhang) October 23, 2018
- To start, you don't really need much. You can just go live on your phone or computer
- I have been using BeLive for 1.5 years. It has features like branding your show, inviting guests, featuring comments, screenshare, etc
- But i am switching to ecamm!#SocialROI
A5. We like BeLive a lot! But it's always helpful to research and have an outline or script before going live. Also it helps to have a pre-live strategy. how do you get people to watch? #socialroi— MeetEdgar (@MeetEdgar) October 23, 2018
A6. @Facebook Live Crossposting allows you to publish a single broadcast across MULTIPLE Pages as an original post. That means one piece of content can be repurposed and engagement across all those videos will roll up to the original page. Use it for blitz campaigns. #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
PROS— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
💡Live video viewer count will appear on all crossposts.
💡Video metrics such as views will roll up to the original broadcast - you can see 💡which Page is driving the most views.
💡You can build relationships with Pages that produce high quality content. #SocialROI
CONS— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
😱 Comments + reactions from your Page's live video won't appear in the other Page's crossposted broadcast, + viewers can't see where the original live video is coming from.
😱 Have to keep an eye out for comments + questions that may appear on other Pages. #SocialROI
It's helped us increase viewership which helped us become eligible for MONETIZATION a lot faster #SocialROI— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A7. Try not to read a script word-for-word; instead, create bullet points that are easy to remember. https://t.co/Nicy090EWz— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
💡WHAT is your livestream about?
💡WHY should viewers tune in?
💡HOW will it impact viewers?
💡WHAT IF viewers tune in, what will happen?#SocialROI
A7. If you're livestreaming from your desktop, you can try adding little post-it notes next to your web cam so it still feels like you're keeping eye contact with viewers #SocialROI pic.twitter.com/cHTzmvPoLk— Stephanie Liu #SMMW19 (@heystephanie) October 23, 2018
A7 Scripts are OK as backups, but you should know your subject so well and be comfortable with it that you can speak impromptu. The more you read, the more you'll lose your audience that looks for natural interaction. #SocialROI— Jim Katzaman - Get Debt-Free One Family at a Time (@JKatzaman) October 23, 2018
A7 if you are going to use a script (which I strongly suggest your don't) know it so well you don't need it. I prefer bullet points if you need to remember to hit certain points. #BeReal #KnowYourStuff #socialroi— Ross Quintana #AdobeSummit (@Ross_Quintana) October 23, 2018
